Hot Forging Demands More from Every Component

Hot forging environments expose press components to radiant heat from billets, scale and slag debris, thermal cycling, and high impact shock loads — simultaneously. BASANT's Hot Forging Presses are designed from the ground up for these conditions, with heat-resistant materials, sealed and protected guideways, forced lubrication, and reinforced drive components sized with generous safety factors to handle continuous high-temperature forging duty reliably for decades.

Engineering Highlights

Key Features

Heat-Resistant Construction

Critical components are designed with thermal expansion allowances, and heat-resistant materials are used throughout the drive system and guideways for reliable continuous hot forging duty.

High Stroke Rate Design

Optimised crankshaft kinematic geometry and lightweight reciprocating components achieve high strokes per minute, maximising throughput in high-volume forging production.

Reinforced Forged Crankshaft

Extra-large diameter forged alloy steel crankshaft, with generous safety factor over rated capacity, handles the severe shock loads of hot metal forging under continuous production conditions.

Sealed Scale-Resistant Guideways

All slide guideways are sealed and protected from forging scale, slag, and debris — preventing premature wear and maintaining slide accuracy throughout the machine's service life.

Positive-Locking Die Height

Motorised die height adjustment with positive mechanical locking ensures consistent part dimensions batch after batch — essential for interchangeable forgings with tight dimensional tolerances.

Forced High-Pressure Lubrication

High-pressure forced lubrication system circulates filtered oil to all crankshaft bearings, connecting rod pins, and slide gibs even at elevated operating temperatures to prevent bearing failures.
