BASANT Mechanical Works manufactures a complete range of Forging Presses for hot and cold forging of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. From high-speed mechanical hot forging presses to versatile friction screw presses and heavy-duty cross shaft ring frame presses — every machine is engineered and manufactured at our facility in India to the highest standards of precision, durability, and reliability.
We manufacture three distinct types of forging presses, each optimised for different forging processes, part sizes, and production environments. All are available in a wide range of capacities and can be customised to your specific requirements.
Purpose-built for continuous hot forging of steel, aluminium, brass, and other metals. High stroke rates for maximum throughput. Reinforced drive components and heat-resistant construction for decades of reliable service in demanding forge shops.
Versatile energy-based forging press that delivers high impact force for hot and cold forging, coining, and precision forming. No fixed bottom dead centre — the press self-adapts to workpiece height variations, making it ideal for open-die and die-forging operations across a wide range of metals.
Heavy-duty ring frame cross shaft mechanical press delivering superior rigidity and dynamic balance for heavy blanking, deep drawing, and high-tonnage forging operations. The ring-frame architecture internalises all force couples, resulting in minimal vibration and excellent slide parallelism under maximum load.
A complete forging operation typically involves multiple machines working in sequence. BASANT manufactures equipment for several key stages of this flow.
Cold-shear billets to precise length & weight using a Billet Shearing Machine.
Heat billets to forging temperature in an induction or gas furnace.
Hot Forging Press or Friction Screw Press forms the heated billet to near-net shape.
Flash is removed on a trimming press. BASANT H-Frame or C-Frame presses are used here.
Scale is removed in a Tumble or Turn Table Shot Blasting Machine, readying the part for inspection.
All BASANT forging press frames are designed with generous safety factors for continuous full-tonnage operation — built to withstand the cyclical shock loads unique to forging operations.
Crankshafts are drop-forged from alloy steel, heat-treated, and precision ground — ensuring long fatigue life under the high cyclic loading of forging production.
A dedicated high-pressure lubrication circuit continuously supplies filtered oil to all crankshaft bearings, connecting rod pins, and slide gibs — even under elevated operating temperatures.
Slide guideways and critical bearing areas are protected by seals and shields that prevent forging scale, slag, and hot debris from entering and causing premature wear.
Precise motorised die height adjustment with a positive mechanical locking mechanism guarantees repeatable forging height and inter-changeability of forgings from batch to batch.
Modern PLC-based control panel with stroke counter, fault diagnostics, and comprehensive safety interlocks — including two-hand control, safety guards, and overload protection systems.
Our forging presses handle a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals across hot, warm, and cold forging temperature ranges.

BASANT has been manufacturing forging presses for decades. That accumulated domain knowledge means fewer surprises and better-tuned machines for your specific application.
We maintain a comprehensive stock of critical spare parts and can supply them rapidly — minimising your production downtime in the event of a breakdown.
Our forging presses are exported worldwide. We understand international standards, documentation, and packing requirements for safe global delivery.
We can customise bed size, die height, stroke, speed, and control systems to match your specific tooling and production requirements — no compromise needed.
BASANT Mechanical Works is one of the few manufacturers in India that can supply your entire forging production line from a single source — from the Billet Shearing Machine at the start of the process through Forging Presses for forming, Trimming Presses for flash removal, and Shot Blasting Machines for surface cleaning and preparation.
Single-source supply simplifies procurement, ensures mechanical compatibility between machines, and gives you a single point of responsibility for after-sales support and spare parts.
